Orbit: Pixel Inspector
Privacy policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026
In short: Orbit does not collect, store or share any data about you.
What Orbit does with your screen
Orbit magnifies the pixels around your pointer so you can inspect colours and measure sizes. To do this it reads the part of the screen near the pointer, using macOS Screen Recording permission.
- Screen pixels are processed only in memory, only while Orbit is running, and only to show them to you.
- Nothing is recorded, saved to disk or sent anywhere.
- Screen Recording is the only permission Orbit asks for.
Data collection
- Orbit makes no network connections.
- It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking, and no third-party code that collects data.
- It doesn't collect personal information, usage data or diagnostics.
If you choose to share crash reports with developers in macOS settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports with us through App Store Connect. These are covered by Apple's privacy policy.
